Nevada Casinos and Gambling
Nevada Gambling :: Las Vegas, Nevada Casinos :: Nevada Casinos
When you think of the word ?gambling,? you?d be kidding yourself if the next thing that popped into your head wasn?t Las Vegas, Nevada. Here in the United States, this gambling mecca is located in Nevada, and some might even say that Nevada wouldn?t be Nevada if it weren?t for the casinos and gambling of Las Vegas.
And, just like most states in the union that allow legalized gambling, the legal age to gamble has risen to 21. However, if a minor is with his or her parent, he or she is allowed in to watch some of the shows and entertainment?provided, however, that that does not involve nude or topless dancers.
And from the looks of it, what with all the resort-hotels populating the skyline here in Las Vegas, a city that resides in what some call a ?cosmopolitan sophistication,? you?d be hard-pressed not to think of Nevada that way. Each hotel is said to be like a vacation all in itself, many of which are equipped with casinos (yes, some resorts house more than one casino!), golf courses, restaurants, wedding chapels, swimming pools, and even spas?anything anyone could possibly imagine, Las Vegas hotels and casinos have it! For the leisurely gambler, location and price are the most important variables that figures into his decision on what resort to choose.
Most of the major resort-hotels (such as the Flamingo, the Bellagio, Caesar?s Palace, the Mirage and Treasure Island as well as others) in Las Vegas can be found downtown, known as The Strip, which is a very small and concentrated area where casinos stretch farther than the eye can see.
Gamblers will find themselves in a slot machine paradise, the sweet music of gambling saturating the air. The casino at Caesar?s Palace alone serves guests with over 129,000 square feet of gambling, ranging from slots to table games and everything in between. The resort also boasts that it provides customers with ?the comfort of Rome.? The Bellagio is easily recognized for its beautiful water fountains that welcome guests to its hotel, and poignant botanical gardens charm guests on the way to its casino. And the Mirage is no mirage at all?it houses a spectacular casino with numerous different types of poker as well as a Texas Hold ?Em poker tournament.
Have no fear?gambling in Las Vegas is a unique and elegant experience for gamblers of any level or experience. The resorts offer a varied mix of extravagance and luxury as well as casinos that never close and are the best in the world. Don?t you hear them calling?
And if you?re feeling just a bit more lucky, put those cards down and wrangle up some gambling history at Nevada?s own Gambling Museum in Virginia City, Nevada, located at 50 South C Street; phone 775-847-9022. Hours of business are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from October through March, and they?re open an hour later from the months of April through September. And with what the museum boasts is more than five hundred thousand dollars worth of gaming memorabilia, the museum is a site worth seeing. Such memorabilia include 100 relic slot machines, gambling weapons, and even cheating machines!
